Legend of the Forest (2025)

I’m obsessed with Bigfoot so I’m always game for a new movie about this elusive creature. My question is, why are there so many bad Bigfoot movies? Don’t get me wrong. There are maybe a handful of good ones out there. But recently I’ve noticed the movies are either documentary-style snooze fests, the creature(s) in the movie is so fake it looks like a Muppet, or you hear the creature and get some shadowy glimpses, but never a full reveal. This movie is that latter instance. The intent of the characters is to go camping and search for Bigfoot. The problem is nothing really happens in regards to the creature. He is heard a few times, and like I said, shadowy glimpses, but no reveal or even insight into the creature’s motivations. Basically, it’s a tragedy that really has nothing to do with Bigfoot. I’m just saying, if your movie description says Bigfoot, then I think he should have a larger presence. I kept watching because I thought there would be a big creature-filled climax. What I got instead was a movie that was a step above watching paint dry.

Oh, I know that obsession well. I have a similar problem and sentiment about movies that have something to do with 112 Ocean Avenue.

Hi, I’m the director, dp and producer of the film. It’s my first feature film. We filmed starting in April of 2020. We were going for a subtle approach to the legend. There are several clues as to his motive. Namely the feathers after Kevin dies and how he would have buries him in the forest since Cassie didn’t see Kevin’s body or any blood. Some people may have missed that when Cassie has the vision when she is alone. In a perfect world we could have maybe shown more but the costume was too cheesy and once you see the costume, the illusion is gone. Sasquatch is the protector of the forest. He saves Cassie when she loses everything. There’s a spiritual analogy in the film as well. Even in your darkest moment we are never alone. Did the movie capture that is a real question. Wasn’t sure if the film would ever get done for various reasons but I’m glad it did. I would implore you to take another look. They say if you make promises on the cover/poster make sure you keep them in the film. I think the promises made on the poster were kept in the film. Bigfoot is in the background but never out in front. Hope you consider another look with those ideas in mind. Best, Ryan

    Ryan,
I appreciate you taking the time to comment on your movie. Unfortunately, this is one of the films that I personally have not watched as of yet. But I am sure our resident Bigfoot superfan, Michelle, will be able to answer when she views this.

Again, thank you for reading, and hopefully you will check back in to see what others are creating out there (and our opinions on them).
